Story-The Salty Confusion departed Johns Pass Tuesday December 18th 2018 for an all night angling adventure.  A long trip it was and the weather cooperated until it was time to go home (a little longer ride back than expected-But NO PROBLEM!) We found some great catches of Smaller red Grouper, Lane Snapper, Porgies and Vermillion Snapper to along with 1 Keeper 24” Red grouper and a 6lb Mangrove Snapper too.  We need a little calm weather and the fishing will be at our leisure (NO MORE BIG WINDS PLEASE!!)  I would recommend only Full Day Charters for a little while til the nearshore fishing improves!  We are looking forward to a successful 2018-2019 Season on the Gulf Of Mexico.  We are only 30 minutes from Tampa Airport!

Saturday November 17th we went out 40 miles looking for a big patch of Large Red Groupers however the rough seas or current proved difficult on them and we moved in a little closer and found a patch of Snappers that were biting very well. Amongst them were Reds, Hog Snapper, Greys, Yellowtails, Lanes and Mangoes too! A number of good sized Porgies and a lot of undersized Red and Gag Grouper too (1 keeper Scamp and 1 keeper red). I would recommend only Full Day Charters for a little while til the nearshore fishing improves! We are looking forward to a successful 2018-2019 Season on the Gulf Of Mexico. We are only 30 minutes from Tampa Airport!

A long day it was and we found some great catches of Smaller red Grouper, Lane Snapper, Porgies and Vermillion Snapper to. We had a lot of dead areas but found a good spot well offshore. I would recommend only Full Day Charters for a little while til the nearshore fishing improves! We are looking forward to a successful 2018-2019 Season on the Gulf Of Mexico. Red Tide appears to be diminishing (We hope!) and it appears there are some good catches out past the 60’ depth of water.  Hurricane Michael hopefully diminished the bloom and we are optimistic about fishing.  We start charters in Madeira Beach out of the Johns Pass area the 1st week of November 2018.  The Salty Confusion is being launched this weekend to get it prepared for the season.  Tampa weather has been very tropical and maybe it will stay for a while!.  Fish On! – Salty Confusion Charters Madeira Beach Florida.

Story-The Salty Confusion has been on land all Summer and will be launched on this weekend for the  2018 season to voyage to its new home Slip # 22 in Madeira Beach Florida at Madeira Town Center Marina and will begin charters early November 2018 for the Winter Season out of Johns Pass.  The Red tide and Hurricane Michael have thrown us a few curves but offshore bottom fishing for Snapper and Grouper should be fine we just need to go a little further out!  Full Day trips are the way to go for now however we should be able to catch some Gray Snapper , Porgies, Sea Bass and smaller Grouper on the Half Day trips too.  We are looking forward to a successful 2018-2019 Season on the Gulf Of Mexico.  We are only 30 minutes from Tampa Airport!
